Just a little get to "know" you type thread. When did you first hear Billy Joel and become a fan?

I guess I'll be the first to post ;D. I have been a Billy Joel fan for 20+years. I have seen him in councert numerous times across the world. I find it interesting to see concerts in different countries. My favorite album would have to be The Nylon Curtain or Storm Front. My favorite song would have to be Until the Night. I just find that song so powerful in some parts.

Hiiii I'm a diehard fan like pretty much everyone else on here. I come from the legendary Joelfan.com whose days are numbered, and which I was sad to see go. I was looking for a new site, and you posted this link, and so I decided to join. Good luck to everyone, lets get this forum up and running!

I too came from the wonder Joelfan site. I've been a Billy fan for five years, and I've seen him three times, including this past Summer at the first of his two already legendary Last Play At Shae shows (I also went to two MSG shows in 2006). He's undoubtedly one of my all time favorite artists, someone whose music transcends the bounds of casual listening and manages to affect its listener on a personal level.

I've been a BJ fan for almost a year and I'm 20 years old. It's hard to find anyone who likes him that much in my country (Brazil), so it was tough job looking for his music and having access to all he's put out. I'm proud to say that, for a short-time fan, I know pretty much about him and am really glad to be a part of the forum!

I'm another migrant from Joelfan.com. Became a Billy fan in highschool when my parents got me Storm Front for Christmas. Before that, I was more into metal, and I used to laugh at friends who were Billy fans ("how can you listen to that Lite-FM crap?!" I used to ask them.) Then I heard Storm Front and realized, hey, this isn't bad! I quickly went on to buy the rest of Billy's albums, and enjoyed all of them.
P.S-- Oh, and thanks for setting this up, BillyJoelFan! Hopefully a lot more of the old-timers from Joelfan will find their way over here. I see no reason why the community can't survive here as well as it did there.

Yep, I'm another straight from Joelfan. Huge fan and really sorry to see that site go. Thank you for setting this one up and I look forward to the wonderful content we've experienced for many years on these fan sites. Let's get those Sendspace links posted again!

Think I might be in the lead here. I've been a fan for 30 years. Yes that long!
I was 19 when the Stranger was first released and I was already a fan because I discovered that Just the Way was not a Barry White song. I first collected BJ music on vinyl, which has now been replaced with CD's. I was a fool in the 80's and gave away all my vinyl because I had a new music centre that didn't have a turntable. You live and learn!

Hey guys! I also came from joelfan and when I saw the link on the official site thought I would check it out. I was a fan of BIlly's when I heard An Innocent Man but I quickly migrated to the heavy metal genre. However, my husband finally converted me after 12 years. I think hearing NYSOM really convinced me that BJ was somebody I could really listen to. So in the past 18 months I have become a die hard, totally addicted, totally obsessed fan. Saw him this past summer at Mohegan and if tickets ever go on sale I will be heading to FL for the January concert. Lets get this thing going - I missed my fellow joelfans!

I have been a fan for almost 9 years. I first heard his music when I was a litte kid at the time of the millenium. I saw parts of Billy's millenium concert on t.v. Since then I have loved his music and seen him in concert twice. My mom has been a fan since she was in college and now my whole family can't get enough of his music.
